Leeds property management firm climbs growth ladder with £155m retail development
Leeds’ Fox Lloyd Jones has concluded the procurement phase of the £155m retail and food leisure development at Fosse Park in Leicester.
This is on behalf of its client, The Crown Estate. The 143,633 sq ft expansion will provide space for nine new retail stores and 16 additional food and beverage units.
Bowmer + Kirkland (B+K), the contractors that originally built Fosse Park almost 30 years ago, have been appointed by The Crown Estate to construct the new development, with work starting on site at the beginning of April. Fox Lloyd Jones are the project managers.
Simon Lloyd, director of Fox Lloyd Jones, said: “It is great news that, after four years of stakeholder dialogue bringing this scheme forward, construction has now begun on site.
“We are looking forward to continuing our role delivering this large scale expansion of the park, through to its completion in 2020.
“In addition to the new units and broadening the offer for shoppers, the redevelopment will incorporate new thinking on wellbeing initiatives for employees and visitors together with excellent sustainability credentials.”
Mike Bell, senior asset manager for Fosse Park, The Crown Estate, added: “This is an important milestone in our investment at Fosse Park, where we’re focused on continuing to improve our offer for visitors.
“We are excited that construction has begun and look forward to continuing our relationship with Fox Lloyd Jones and Fosse Park’s retailers to build on the scheme’s success as a brilliant place for visitors, shoppers and the local community to enjoy.”
