Merthyr Community Fund returns for one-off giveaway

St Tydfil Shopping Centre is delighted to be bringing back its St Tydfil Cares Community Fund for a special one-off giveaway and is inviting groups, schools and charities in the Merthyr area to nominate themselves to win a £200 We Love Merthyr gift card.

The Community Fund aims to help a local group complete a project, put on an event or support work that benefits people in the area.

The gift card can be used at a wide range of stores in the shopping centre. Perhaps a community group would like to renovate its headquarters, a charity needs to purchase raffle prizes to help with its fundraising, or a school is looking to add to its craft materials or library. Whatever the need, St Tydfil Shopping Centre wants to hear about it.

Lee Simmonds, Centre Manager at St Tydfil Shopping Centre, commented:

“Our St Tydfil Cares Community Fund proved extremely popular last year, and it highlighted what fantastic charities, groups and projects there are in the local area which support the community. We’re delighted to be bringing it back for a one-off giveaway and look forward to hearing how the £200 gift card could be of help.”

Groups can nominate themselves by contacting St Tydfil Shopping Centre and explaining how the £200 will be used. Nominations can be made by emailing StTydfil@pmwcom.co.uk or by sending a letter to St Tydfil Cares Community Fund, c/o PMW Communications, PO Box 167, Bideford, Devon, EX39 9DU. The closing date for nominations is Tuesday 30th April.

From all the nominations received, the shopping centre will choose three groups as finalists, then the local community will be invited to vote for who they would like to receive the We Love Merthyr gift card.
