New Managing Partner takes the reins at Simpkins Edwards
Leading Devon accountancy firm Simpkins Edwards is celebrating the appointment of its new Managing Partner Mary Jane Campbell. Mary Jane, who also leads the British Junior Carriage Driving Team in her spare time, is taking over the reins from Lynn Woodward who has been at the helm since 2012. Lynn will remain as a partner at the firm, focusing on her rural business and agricultural client base.
Commenting on her appointment Mary Jane Campbell said: “Lynn has shaped the firm over the past seven years. She has done an amazing job, putting us in a strong position to meet the needs of clients seeking strategic business, accountancy and tax advice across the region.
“As managing partner, my aim is to further invest in the best people so that we continue to deliver outstanding service to our clients. I am very proud of our record of developing school leavers and university graduates through our apprenticeships schemes and of the range of talent we have throughout the firm. We are fortunate to now have 13 people with the Chartered Tax Adviser qualification, enabling us to provide tailored tax advice across all our main locations in Exeter, Barnstaple, Bovey Tracey, Holsworthy and Okehampton.”
“As part of the firm’s strategy for growth we embrace new technology to help save our clients time and money, while delivering real-time management information. Alongside insight from our team of experienced professionals this allows our clients to plan with confidence.”
Commenting on Lynn’s legacy, Mary Jane said, “Much has changed since Lynn became senior partner in 2012. We have rebranded, opened a new office in Bovey Tracey, passed our 50th anniversary, launched our annual volunteering days and been shortlisted for Firm of the Year at the 2018 British Accountancy Awards. I am excited to see where the next seven years will take the firm, but one thing I know is that we will continue to be by our clients’ sides, delivering our invaluable support for their businesses, as we have done for the last 50 years.”
