£14.1m Sunderland scheme to deliver 116 new homes
Plans have been approved for 116 new rental homes on a former primary school site in Hetton-le-Hole, Sunderland.
Build-to-rent developer Placefirst has secured permission for a £14.1m development to transform the vacant Easington Lane primary school site into a rental residential estate.
Plans include range of two to four-bedroom houses in varying types, as well as a children’s play area and shared courtyard gardens.
Construction on the development is due to commence this summer, and follows Placefirst’s 86-home development of The Green in Hartlepool.
David Smith-Milne, managing director of Placefirst, explained: “Our plans for Hetton-le-Hole will deliver best in class rental homes for a growing demographic that rely on renting for their housing needs.
“More families are renting than ever before and the need for a reliable, quality offer has never been greater. Our homes offer a genuine, high-quality alternative for working families priced out of the housing market, or who prefer the flexibility of renting.”
