Darlington coffee company secures investment for global growth

Coffee specialist Beanies Flavour Coffee has secured investment from business finance firm NPIF - FW Capital Debt Finance to boost its ongoing growth plans.

Based in Darlington, Beanies Flavour Coffee specialises in freeze-dried sugar-free coffee in a range of flavours.

Since its establishment over eight years ago, the company has secured business in 30 countries around the world and increased sales of individual coffee sachets and 50g jars by 50 per cent.

The investment will be used to deliver the company’s ambitious growth plans. John Evans, managing director of Beanies Flavour Coffee, commented: “We intend to quadruple our turnover in the next few years with introductions of new products and extending retailers on the high street, over the internet and in the wholesale sector.

“We were very happy to have an experienced team of advisers around us that helped us to secure the funding for this next phase of growth.”

NPIF - FW Capital Debt Finance, managed by FW Capital and part of the The Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund, specialises in offering finance solutions to SMEs throughout the region, with access to funds such as the Tees Valley Catalyst Fund and the North East Property Fund.

Keith Charlton at FW Capital added: “It’s been a pleasure to work with the team at Beanies as they continue to expand their reach and build even further on the success they have already experienced.”

News of the investment, facilitated by MHA Tait Walker, follows the firm securing initial support from Tees Valley Combined Authority to accelerate growth.

Ben Houchen, Tees Valley Mayor, explained: “The success and rapid growth of Beanies is a great example of the entrepreneurial spirit that I see so often when I visit businesses in the Tees Valley.

“I would like to congratulate John and the whole team on what they’ve achieved in a short period of time. We’ve supported Beanies with £50k to get them up and running, and I wish them all the best for the future.”
