£400k funding for Teesside sustainable sportswear brand

A Middlesbrough company specialising in sustainable sportswear has secured £400k in funding to expand operations and raise the profile of the brand.

Founded in 2018, Presca Teamwear produces technical sportswear using yarns from recycled materials, such as fishing nets and plastic bottles.

The £400k private equity funding, from an unnamed investor, will allow the company to expand operations and raise the profile of its brand, having already taken on additional sales and marketing staff.

The investment will also be used to develop an in-house research and development facility situated in Teesside.

Co-founder of Presca Teamwear Peter Lillie said: “This major investment will help us to further develop our game-changing approach to performance teamwear.

“Our investors have a successful track record in working with high growth scalable companies and we hope that this will enable us to achieve our aim of becoming the number one teamwear choice for clubs, businesses and individual athletes.

“We want to continue to show that performance and sustainability can work hand in hand by expanding our bespoke offering and moving the Presca brand into the retail sector.”
