Town centre jobs secured through local businessman’s investment

A South Shields businessman has secured jobs in the town by acquiring the Vodafone store in King Street.

Kevin Frampton has secured five jobs by becoming an owner of the franchise, signing a lease on the store for up to six years.

Assisted by North East law firm PG Legal, Kevin secured the acquisition and lease after managing the store for a number of years, and has plans to expand the business with another franchise in Washington, securing a further eight jobs in the region.

Commenting on the acquisition, Kevin said: “This store has great potential and an already established and loyal client base. I am passionate about providing for the local community and retaining jobs within our town.”

Phil Dean, director at PG Legal added: “We are always proud to support local SMEs, start-ups and entrepreneurs. These businesses are incredibly important to our local economy and local communities.

“Kevin is a fantastic businessman and has pledged to maintain a fantastic and established brand within South Shields town centre. Agreements like this futureproof the local high street and encourage other vendors to occupy surrounding units.

“We look forward to continuing our relationship with Kevin and are happy to play a small part in his success.”
