Healthcare group acquires Cheshire pharmacy
Vicars Cross Healthcare has announced the acquisition of M & A Weinronk Pharmacy with two Chester-based companies playing key roles in the deal.
The Vicars Cross-based practice has been acquired from the Weinronk Pharmacies group and the deal will see the pharmacy rebranded as Vicars Cross Pharmacy to reflect its new ownership.
A team of experts from legal firm Aaron & Partners advised on the acquisition– the latest in a series of buy-outs handled by the firm’s specialist pharmacy team – on behalf of Vicars Cross Healthcare.
Chartered accountancy firm UHY Hacker Young also played a key role in the deal, completing the financial due diligence after funding was secured from Lloyds Banking Group.
Nick Goodwin, Director of Vicars Cross Healthcare, said: “We’re really excited to have acquired this pharmacy in Vicars Cross. This area has a special place in our hearts, as my wife and I – who is a joint-Director – got engaged nearby in Chester. We’re from different areas of the UK so Cheshire was our meeting place on those rare occasions were we weren’t studying Pharmacy together in Liverpool or working in different Pharmacies in the North West.
“The Pharmacy has been at the centre of the community for almost 40 years, we’re looking forward to cementing ourselves as an integral part of the area and continuing to serve the needs of local people under the new name of Vicars Cross Pharmacy.
“The support from Aaron & Partners and UHY Hacker Young has been invaluable and having such trusted advisors by our side throughout has made the process incredibly smooth.”
Hugh Strickland, Corporate Finance Partner at Aaron & Partners, was supported by Zoe Lloyd and Emma Rostron on helping to conclude the deal. He said, “We’re delighted to have been able to secure this deal for Vicars Cross Healthcare, one that is mutually beneficial to both them and Weinronk Pharmacies.
“The team are full of energy and enthusiasm for serving the local community and growing their business, and we look forward to the opportunity to work with them again to support their future growth plans.”
John Ierston, of UHY Hacker Young, added: “It’s brilliant to see this deal agreed successfully and we’re pleased to have played a key role in this acquisition on behalf of Vicars Cross Healthcare. We wish them every success for the future.
“It’s also been a pleasure working alongside the team at Aaron & Partners on this acquisition to wrap up the deal swiftly and secure the desired outcome for our client.”
Weinronk Pharmacies were advised by Brabners and Hutchings Consultants.
