Heathcotes Group appoints Supported Living Manager for Yorkshire
Care provider, Heathcotes Group, has appointed Tim Elliott as Supported Living Manager to oversee its independent supported living provision in the Yorkshire region.
Heathcotes has expanded its care pathway with the development of numerous self-contained apartments across various regions in the past two years, providing supported living for service users who no longer require full-time residential care. The company’s enhanced supported living portfolio enables individuals to make a progressive step down from a hospital or residential setting to a self-contained environment that benefits from the availability of support 24/7. The provision is focused on helping individuals to build independent living skills and preparing them for the next step on their journey. Heathcotes Group is one of the UK’s most experienced providers of specialist care for adults with learning disabilities, mental illness and associated challenging behaviours.
Tim will be responsible for Heathcotes Group’s existing supported living services at four locations in Yorkshire, including three apartments in Wakefield, three apartments in Bradford, four apartments in Grimsby and three apartments in Rotherham. His role will involve supporting service users to successfully transition into the next step of independent living with support packages which enable them to achieve citizenship, possess their own tenancy, maintain their tenancy and further develop their daily living skills.
Tim has a wealth of experience in managing supported living and community support services gained through similar positions at The Wilf Ward Family Trust and the Avalon Group. He is also highly experienced in working with adults with learning disabilities, mental health needs and associated challenging behaviours.
Tim said:
“I will be ensuring that our support packages are tailor-made for each individual, focusing on encouraging and empowering them to recognise their self-identity and develop their independence. Heathcotes’ supported living services are a separate model of care to our core residential services, but the two are linked as part of the company’s commitment to providing a full care pathway, from full-time care to semi- independent living. Our supported living accommodation is available for individuals who have progressed through their care pathway, but it can also be used for individuals who require a single-person service due to their complexity and inability to live with others. Within my role I will oversee Heathcotes’ compliance audits to ensure that our supported living services are caring, responsive, effective, well-led and safe to the highest standards.”
Tim will also work with Heathcotes’ Head of Commissioning, Natalia Lysiuk, in developing new provision. The company’s next location is a new build development in Leeds offering a bespoke complex of eight supported living apartments with a shared entrance. Heathcotes is working closely with Leeds City Council to identify individuals from its residential homes who are ready to step down into independent supported living.
