Lawyers Take on the Elements for Charity ‘Earth, Wind and Fire’ Challenge
A team of lawyers from Leeds-based corporate law firm, Shulmans LLP, are set to embark on their latest adventure as part of a trilogy of fundraising challenges.
Shulmans has announced that 20 of its employees will be climbing the Yorkshire Three Peaks on 18th May during Mental Health Awareness Week (13th – 19th May) in aid of Leeds Mind, its charity of the year.
With training already underway, the team will be tackling the region’s famous peaks, Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, raising vital funds for the independent charity.
The Three Peaks is the second instalment in the series of challenges inspired by the elements that the Shulmans team will be embarking upon within the year. The trio kicked off in November with a charity fire walk. The peaks, representing the ‘earth’ element, will be quickly followed by ‘wind’, as adventurous colleagues take to the skies later this summer and face their fears at 10,000 feet for a charity skydive.
Shulmans has an established corporate social responsibility programme that supports a range of causes each year across the Yorkshire region. Its 2019 charity partner, Leeds Mind, promotes positive mental health and wellbeing and provides help and support to those who need it within the city.
Rebecca Clark, one of the Shulmans event organisers commented: “We are looking forward to our mountain adventure and taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge! We’ll be aiming to complete the walk as quickly as possible and in doing so raise vital funds in support of Leeds Mind. We are very proud to be partnering with this important local charity in 2019, and we hope the money raised will help them to deliver vital work for the benefit of people living in Leeds.”
Charli Brunning, Corporate Fundraising Officer for Leeds Mind said: “We would like to wish the Shulmans team the very best of luck as they battle the elements and take on their latest challenge and thank them for their ongoing support. One in four people will experience mental health difficulties at some point in their lives; the monies raised will enable us to better support individuals when they need it most, and to work together to promote positive mental health and wellbeing.”
