Michelin chef to bring Indian fine dining to former Westminster fire station

The former Westminster fire station is due to become the home of the latest project of restaurateur, chef and TV personality Atul Kochhar.

The first Indian chef in the world to receive a Michelin star, Atul plans to officially open his new eatery Mathura in the autumn.

The 200 cover restaurant and bar will be housed at the 5,000 sq ft former fire station site in Westminster, which is a combined Grade II-listed building conversion and new build mixed-use development.

The venture will be the chef’s second central London restaurant, following the launch of Kanishka in Mayfair earlier this year.

Atul’s Mathura team have appointed Rosendale Design, the interior designers behind the likes of The Game Bird, The Ninth and Cabotte, to oversee the project.
