'Cosy retreat’ in £130m Barnsley scheme set to create 30 jobs

A new Barnsley restaurant will create 30 jobs when it opens its doors at the end of this month.

Falco Lounge, named after the latin for ‘falcon’ as a nod to Barnsley-based story Kes, will officially launch next week at retail and leisure development The Glass Works.

Brought to the town by Bristol-based hospitality group The Lounges, the site has undergone a £650k transformation to become a retro-inspired family venue and ‘cosy retreat’, offering a range of different cuisines on its all-day menu.

Falco Lounge is the first unit to open at the £130m Barnsley town centre scheme, which offer over 25,000 sq ft of food and drink units and is expected to be completed by May 2020.

Phil Kinsella, operations manager of The Lounges, commented: “We’re really looking forward to throwing open the doors at Falco Lounge and showing the locals how to lounge in style.”

He added: “The team are looking forward to becoming part of the community and will support local groups and initiatives wherever possible.”
