Heathcotes Group opens new service in London
Care provider, Heathcotes Group, has opened a specialist residential service in South London providing support for adults with learning disabilities, dual diagnoses and associated complex needs.
Queens Park Lodge, an existing care home property in Caterham, has been acquired and redeveloped to create specially adapted accommodation comprising eight en-suite bedrooms with 24-hour support from 16 full-time care staff. The facilities have been designed by Heathcotes’ in-house architectural consultancy, JDS Design, and built by contractors John Ryan Developments Ltd. The staff are trained in NAPPI (Non-Abusive Physical and Psychological Interventions) which is particularly effective when working with challenging behaviour.
Mikkel Togsverd, Managing Director of Heathcotes Southern, said:
“Heathcotes are delighted to expand our estate in the southern region with a new service to support more people and help them to further their independence and achieve their goals. We now have a total of seven services in the south of England providing a range of specialist support for learning disabilities, autism and challenging behaviour. The design and planning behind the development of Queens Park Lodge have been based on Heathcotes’ core service model. Our services can provide an intermediary placement between hospital and supported living or a permanent home for those who may never be able to live fully independently. The property provides spacious three-storey accommodation with extensive communal living space and exceptionally large gardens for residents to enjoy.”
“As with every new service we open, Heathcotes have worked in close collaboration with the local authority and CCG to develop services which will enable individuals to achieve greater social inclusion and integration within the community.”
With over 60 services nationwide and a head office in Chesterfield, Heathcotes Group has been a trusted partner to over 50 local authorities and Clinical Commissioning Groups since 2004. The company has been rated by the Care Quality Commission as one of the leading adult specialist care home providers in the UK with 86% of services rated Good or Outstanding.
