New appointment bolsters housebuilders’ presence in south west
Barratt Developments, which includes Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes is cementing its commitment to creating new homes across the south west, by appointing a new land director.
David Matthews will be responsible for land acquisition - allowing the five star housebuilders to expand their presence in the region.
With 18 years’ experience within the industry, David has worked in roles at locations across the country, after graduating from Southampton Solent University with a Business degree.
“I chose to work in construction when I left university - passing up the opportunity to join the RAF as an intelligence officer,” said David. “And I’m so glad I did. I’ve now lived in Exeter for 12 years, and I love the proximity to a thriving city - with easy access to some of the most amazing landscapes and beaches the south west has to offer.
“Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes have excellent reputations for quality, and I’m looking forward to helping continue this by securing some beautiful sites for development into exciting new communities.
“The south west is blessed with some wonderful locations for new homes - so I’m looking forward to securing some key sites.”
David is married with two daughters and is a keen sportsman - still playing cricket for Uplyme and Lyme Regis. He also plays golf and takes part in triathlons when time permits.
“My mission is to seek out some impressive settings for some stylish new homes over the coming months,” said David.
Managing director Huw Llewellyn added: “David is a hugely valuable addition to our team here in the south west. His wealth of experience in this field will ensure we maintain our reputation for acquiring superb locations to turn into the perfect place to call ‘home’ for our future buyers.”
