Phase One startup incubator set to launch in York

York is set to become home to a new incubator next month that will give local startups a space to grow their businesses and develop ideas.

Launching on June 25, York Science Park’s Phase One incubator will provide support to pre-start businesses as well as startups in their first 12 months of operations, focusing on the digital, creative, tech and science industries.

Claire Bennett, general manager of York Science Park, commented: “[we are] delighted to finally launch Phase One. This has been years in the making for us, and we are looking for the most creative, innovative and dynamic new businesses to join our entrepreneurial ecosystem.”

York Science Park has worked closely with branding and marketing agency Ideas Group to develop the Phase One concept, as well as collaborating with the University of York to access its technology and research facilities.

Nick Townend, managing director of Ideas Group added: “It’s brilliant to be part of such a great project for the Science Park, University and the city using our interiors and brand experience design skills alongside brand creation and marketing.

“We look forward to being part of the support, mentoring team members and making Phase One a launch pad for innovative 21st century businesses.”
