North East angel investor scheme launched by Dragons’ Den judge
An initiative to support angel investors source and secure investment opportunities in the North East has launched today (May 22).
Unveiled at investment conference FinanceCamp by Dragons’ Den entrepreneur Jenny Campbell, the Newcastle Angel Hub will form part of the UK Business Angels Association and be delivered by the Innovation SuperNetwork and Invest Newcastle.
Dragons’ Den panelist and investor Jenny Campbell commented: “I’ve heard some really inspirational stories about North East businesses who have succeeded in securing equity investment.
“The launch of the Newcastle Angel Hub will go a significant way towards ensuring this happens more in the North East and I will look with interest at how this continues to develop in the coming weeks and months.”
The scheme aims to facilitate opportunities for angel investors looking to invest in the region and provide guidance and advice, as well as connecting potential investors with companies and organisations throughout the region
Simon Green, CEO at the Innovation SuperNetwork: “We’re pleased to be able to add to the UKBAA network with the Newcastle Angel Hub.
“This is the first stage in an ongoing piece of work to develop a regional support infrastructure to establish an engaged and networked Business Angel community in the North East.”
