Celebrities and Professionals Flock for North Yorkshire Open Farm Weekend

A new venture launched by a North Yorkshire farmer has taken National Opening Farming Weekend to a whole new level.

Thrussendale Farm is home to The Private Hill, a new luxurious glamping and event destination, which is the only one like it in the North.

The weekend saw it flooded with professional people and a few celebrities for good measure, to see what all the fuss is about.

Each dome also comes complete with a small kitchenette, Nespresso coffee machine, Sonos music, private BBQ and many other luxury touches only usually associated with 5 star hotel stays.

Over the weekend, influential guests from the travel industry, creative and marketing, luxury experiences and media visited The Private Hill with loved ones and families to enjoy the experience for themselves, and get to grips with farm life, meetings cows, bulls, sheep and various farmyard chicks.

Tony Horne, well known radio presenter was amongst the mix, as well as Ian Whyte, the 7 foot 1 actor who is well known for his roles as the giant in Game of Thrones and Alien Vs Predator, amongst other screen hits.

Roddy Hamilton, owner of Thrussendale Farm and The Private Hill, said:

“The official opening of The Private Hill coincided perfectly with National Open Farm Weekend, so I decided to open it up to a variety of people whose first choice wouldn’t necessarily be to glamp on a farm…

“The intention was to open their eyes to the luxury we have on offer, and for them to appreciate how much good it does you to be in touch with nature. They were a joy to have as guests and their feedback was immense and will prove invaluable going forward!”
