£1m housing transformation for historic Leeds pub
A historic grade II pub in Leeds has undergone a £1m transformation into a collection of new homes.
Located in Lowtown in Pudsey, the former Crown Inn has been converted into a residential complex by Leeds-based developer Bryan Properties.
The grade II listed building is now the home of four apartments, as well as three new townhouses in the pub’s former rear car park.
Linley & Simpson’s director of new homes, David Waddington, said: “The sales success underlines the growing appeal of Pudsey as an up-and-coming part of Leeds to live.
“While it was sad for many to see the pub lost to the community, the development has been called Crown Place to ensure its name and place in Pudsey’s history lives on.”
Dating back to 1833, the pub has been vacant since its closure in 2014.
The one and two-bedroom apartments in the historic building will be available to rent this summer.
The townhouses, which were marketed by local estate agents Linley & Simpson, have all been sold.
David added: “This development is a great example of how to bring an empty listed building back into viable use.
“And it’s been a real sales success story too, with all three of the townhouses bought in double-quick time.”
