North East medical architect explores new markets with London acquisition
An architectural practice is planning to expand into new markets following its acquisition of a London firm.
Medical Architecture, which has offices in Newcastle as well as London, has acquired Holborn-based housing specialist TM Architects as part of its plan to expand into new sectors.
Established 28 years ago, Medical Architecture currently specialises in the design and planning of healthcare sites such as hospitals, care centres and integrated facilities.
By acquiring TM Architects, which has worked on residential regeneration and urban design projects throughout London and the South East, the firm hopes to bolster its expansion plans and grow its presence in the housing sector.
Paul Yeomans, director at Medical Architecture, explained: “Having long-established ourselves as one of the leading practices within our sector, we took the strategic decision to look to broaden the range of services we offer and projects we can undertake.
“We’ve worked with TM Architects in the past and know the practice well, so were certain that it offered both the right fit with our character and the experience and expertise that will support our development plans.
The firm received legal advice on the acquisition from Hay & Kilner Law Firm, while accountancy firm Robson Laidler advised on the financial aspects of the deal.
“Bringing the two firms together creates a very strong proposition that we feel will enable us to continue to grow in both new and existing markets over the coming years.
Mark Adams, partner at Hay & Kilner Law Firm, added: “Medical Architecture has an excellent reputation within its specialist areas of expertise, and this acquisition is an exciting one which will provide it with the resources to expand into other areas as part of its strategic plans.
“We’re very pleased to have been able to help Paul and his team on this particular project and look forward to seeing the expanded practice go from strength to strength.”
