Housebuilder supports Newcastle based charity, Dementia Matters, with new funding initiative
Local housebuilder, Barratt Homes North East, has launched a new initiative designed to support the communities in which it builds. The Community Fund will see the housebuilder donate up to £1,000 each month to a community group or charity across the North East region. As part of the new scheme, the housebuilder is supporting the Newcastle based charity, Dementia Matters.
The housebuilder’s £1,000 donation to Dementia Matters will help the charity with its mission to provide specialist care, support and advice to people with dementia and other neurological disorders, as well as their carers, across the North East, The organisation offers 24-hour care at home, in both residential and respite care, as well as its unique independent supported living service.
Becky Mortimer, Sales Manager at Barratt Homes’ North Gosforth Park development, commented: “We are delighted to launch the Community Fund initiative across our North East division, which will enable us to continue to support the communities and causes around our developments. We’re proud to donate this month’s fund to such a worthwhile cause within Newcastle Upon Tyne and are pleased that we are able to help the team at Dementia Matters continue with the incredible work that they do for both carers and those living with dementia.”
Speaking on the donation, Greg Robinson, Fundraising Officer at Dementia Matters, said: “We’re extremely grateful to the team at Barratt Homes for their generous donation. It is the support and donations from the local community that help us to continue our hard work and implement our services across the North East. This donation will really help to make a difference to the lives of people living with dementia and their carers.”
