New adult care home in Hull is creating 50 jobs for the local area
The launch of an adult care home in Hull is set to create more than 50 jobs across several roles in the next 12 months.
Exemplar Health Care’s St Andrew’s Court home will open this September, with work underway to prepare for residential arrival in over four months.
The specialist adult nursing home, situated on Wheeler Street, was formerly a 34-bed elderly care home, with Exemplar refurbishing the site to meet the requirements of new residents.
Selina Wall, Exemplar’s senior director of operations, said: “This is a great opportunity to be part of our brand-new home in Hull, particularly for medical professionals wanting to move away from hospital life in the region to a more holistic care environment.
“It’s a really exciting time and a chance for a new team to help shape the service we will offer. We’re lucky to be joining such a lovely community.
“We’ve already introduced residents from our other homes to the area through events at Rainbow Children’s Centre and we’re excited to work with the community more over the coming months.”
The refurbishment will create 20 specially-designed bedrooms and the care provider is looking for healthcare professionals and domestic staff to join its team ahead of the opening in autumn 2019.
St Andrew’s Court will provide specialist nurse-led care for adults with nursing needs including dementia, mental health conditions, brain injury, stroke and neuro-disabilities.
