Doncaster firm creates jobs for displaced workers with new Leeds office

A Doncaster mechanical and electrical engineering company has announced a move into West Yorkshire creating jobs for the displaced workers of a local firm.

Beckingham-based Mech FS has opened a new Leeds office, creating roles for eight employees of LX Engineering (North) after the firm entered administration.

Paul Sutherland, chief executive of Mech FS, explained: “It was part of our business strategy to develop a presence in Leeds and we recognised this opportunity was the right fit for us.

“We are pleased to be able to step in and provide these jobs in the aftermath of such a worrying time and look forward to welcoming the new staff into the Mech FS family.

The opening of the new office, based in Leeds’ Thorpe park, is part of the firm’s ongoing expansion plans, and follows its expansion into Europe earlier this year with the launch of a base in Germany.

Paul continued: “We are experiencing strong growth across the UK and Europe with a forward order book in excess of £50 million and this new office strengthens our delivery capability. It’s a really exciting time for us and our staff.”
