Glu Recruit Raises £1.5k for medical hair loss charity Routes Hair Loss Solutions
A leading South Yorkshire-based recruitment firm has raised £1,500 for medical hair loss charity Routes Hair Loss Solutions at a charity quiz hosted by the business in celebration of the 3rd anniversary since its launch.
Glu Recruit - which specialises in office support, sales, creative, digital and I.T recruitment – announced Routes as its charity of the year last month.
The impressive sum of £1,200 was raised through donations, raffle tickets sales and a charity auction made by more than 100 members of the local business community who attended the event at Sheffield’s Rev De Cuba on Thursday, June 28th, with Glu topping the total up to £1,500 overall.
Team ‘Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber Pots’ were announced as the winners at the end of the night, beating local estate agents Redbrik by a small margin.
The funds will now be donated to Routes Hair Loss Solutions, which was founded by Rachel Burgin in 2018, and which helps to fund high quality, natural looking wigs that are fit for everyday wear for people who have suffered hair loss as a result of a medical condition such as cancer.
Rob Shaw, Managing Director at Glu Recruit said: “I would like to thank everyone who attended for their support not only for the charity, but also for Glu.
“Over the last three years the business has more than doubled in size, and we have worked with hundreds of local businesses to find the right team members to join them – both here in the UK, and on occasion further afield.
“The event was a wonderful way of bringing our business community together in celebration and we were delighted to be able to raise funds for our chosen charity of the year at the same time.”
Glu’s Head of Client Partnerships, Lisa Betsworth, who was given the all clear from her Non-Hodgkin lymphoma diagnosis in February this year, said: “This is an amazing charity that makes a real difference to people who are going through a tough time – helping to boost their confidence and restore some normality to their lives.
“I know first-hand how difficult it can be to cope with hair loss as a result of a medical condition, and I know that the funds raised at the Glu event will have a real impact on people’s lives.”
Rachel Burgin added: “A huge thank you to Rob, the team at Glu Recruit and all those who attended the event on Thursday night for their generous donations.”
Glu will continue to fundraise for the charity for the remainder of the year.
