The signs are good! Holberry appointed on Caedmon's £25m housing developments
Caedmon Homes, the residential development arm of North Yorkshire-based property company Norstar Real Estate Group, has appointed Holberry Signs of Harrogate as the signage contractor on three prestigious housing projects.
Holberry is working with Caedmon Homes sites on Caedmon’s signage requirements at state-of-the-art developments at Kirby Hill, near Boroughbridge; St Johns Mews in York; and Spa Well Court in Whitby.
Altogether the three developments have a capital value of £25 million.
The ex-England Rugby Union star Martyn Wood, whose wife Eva works for Holberry Signs, explained it was a rugby connection which led to Holberry teaming up with Caedmon.
“I am Director of Rugby at Hull Ionians, where Adam Brown, the son of Paul Brown, a director of Caedmon, plays rugby. Paul and I got chatting after a match about all things property and the marketing and signage conversation came up and the rest, as they say, is history.
“So far we have had a good relationship with a mutual interest in property development and rugby. Holberry, which was founded 30 years ago in Harrogate, works broadly across many sectors but specialises in the property sector.
Paul Brown of Caedmon Homes commented: “We are delighted to be working with such a respected signage company as Holberry. The company has a fine track record for delivering quality signage, flags and hoardings and we are exceptionally happy with what has been delivered so far.”
Eva Wood, a director of Holberry explained: “These are significant and exciting contracts for us. We are aware of Caedmon’s excellent reputation and hope ours will be a fruitful and long-lasting relationship.”
Paul Brown explained: “We have chosen all three locations extremely carefully. Kirby Hill is a pretty rural village near the flourishing market town of Boroughbridge and within minutes of the A1 motorway, providing easy commuting access to York, Leeds and Newcastle.
“Recent quality housing developments in the Boroughbridge area have proved very successful and we are confident that our Kirby Hill development will be equally popular. Our homes will be competitively-priced, but built to the highest standards.
“Meanwhile our Whitby development Spa Well Court reflects the growing popularity of this unique seaside town. Its restaurants have a national reputation, the Dracula legend gives the town an international profile and nearby idyllic picture postcard villages like Sandsend, Robin Hood’s Bay and Staithes provide an extra dimension to life on the coast in North Yorkshire.
“We expect some houses will be bought as second homes, but we are also hoping that they will appeal to first-time buyers in the Whitby area and also to older couples wanting to downsize and to live near the seaside. Already 25 per cent of Spa Well Court has been sold off plan.
“Finally York has just been named as the best place to live in the UK by the Sunday Times and our St John Mews development is already proving very popular, with reservations received on five apartments already. They will be ready for occupation later this month,” said Mr Brown.
