Stockport accountancy firm raises thousands for Beechwood Cancer Care Centre
Stockport-based Booth Ainsworth, which is part of the Baldwins Group, has raised £4,000 for Beechwood Cancer Care Centre following the company’s 16th annual quiz night.
The accounting and business advisory firm welcomed more than 40 teams comprising local business people to the event at Cheshire Conference Centre.
While raising vital funds for a great cause and enjoying a hot buffet supper, guests competed for the Booth Ainsworth quiz trophy, which was won this year by financial services company, Together Money.
As well as the quiz, the firm hosted a raffle and an auction for a Manchester United ladies’ shirt, which has been signed by Sir Bobby Charlton.
David Powell, Senior Partner of Booth Ainsworth and quiz master on the night, said: “It was fantastic to see so many local businesses attend the evening, and to see new and old faces joining in to help raise money for such a great local charity.
“We understand how important these fundraising events are to the charity as the money raised helps to keep its services running in the community.
“Over the last 15 years, Booth Ainsworth has raised more than £60,000 for the organisation and we are delighted to be able to present Beechwood Cancer Care Centre with this cheque.”
The centre was established in 1990 to support people from across the North West affected by cancer and other life-limiting illnesses, such as motor neurone disease.
CEO of Beechwood Cancer Care Centre, Linda Steggles, said: “We would like to thank Booth Ainsworth for the firm’s continued support of Beechwood Cancer Care.
“The Booth Ainsworth Quiz Night has become something of an annual event in the calendars of local supporters and businesses; this year was the 16th fundraiser for the charity, which is simply amazing.
“The Beechwood team and Board of Trustees would like to extend their gratitude to everyone involved who make the quiz night the success it is year on year, and of course to all those who took time out of their busy schedules to be there - it was a fantastic evening.”
Emma Dinnen, Corporate & Community Fundraiser of Beechwood Cancer Care Centre, said: “The charity needs £4,000 per day to deliver its services and to know that this amount was raised in one evening demonstrates the impact of local corporate support for Beechwood.
“Those who need the charity’s services will continue to receive help due to the generosity of those who supported this event and that of Booth Ainsworth. Thank you once again to all involved.”
