Gateway Villa Rentals has surpassed its funding mark of £50k on Seedrs in just one day.
The luxury villa rental startup, based in London, is aiming to build its portfolio of over 400 villas currently available. Travellers are able to book a room in one of the company’s villas and have the opportunity to share the property with ‘like-minded’ people like themselves.
The global luxury villa rentals marketplace is said to be currently worth over $15bn per year. Successes include the popular Airbnb, to Yacht Week and Uber.
According to GlobalData, one in four people are now willing to share their home on a short-term basis with a stranger, in order to build a sense of community.
Gateway Villa Rentals is aiming to bring people together who have similar interests, values and hobbies.
Sid Narang, CEO and founder of The Squa.re, alongside advisor and investor to Gateway Villa Rentals, concluded: “Gateway has a very clever customer acquisition model, leveraging the sharing economy which ultimately will become a superior competitive advantage.”
