Deanston House Limited creates 60 Local Jobs following £3.5 million investment

Deanston House Limited (part of the Enhanced Community Healthcare Options Group – ECHO) is investing £3.5 million in Deanston House, a specialist Care Home with Nursing in Doune, Stirlingshire, creating 60 jobs in the local area.

The 19th century, category B listed, country manor is being converted into a Care Home designed to provide residential care for individuals over the age of 18, and who have a Learning Disability and complex needs, such as an Autistic Spectrum Disorder, a mental health condition, sensory impairment or physical disability.

Deanston House has been sensitively renovated to create a service for up to 20 people, with three individual suites on three floors each accommodating six individuals, and a further two studio apartments on the ground floor.

Service Users will have an en-suite bedroom and a communal lounge and dining room, as well as access to other areas to relax, exercise, cook and participate in meaningful activities. Staff will support Service Users to integrate in their local community and wider afield, participating in activities they enjoy.

The focus is on providing person-centred Services that enable people to develop their independence and life a full and enriched life that is meaningful to them.

Andrew Shelton Murray, Director of ECHO, said: “The specialist care that will be on offer at Deanston House will help to support a number of people living with Learning Disabilities and complex needs to have an improved quality of life and to become as independent as possible.

“Deanston House is a beautiful environment, set very close to the village of Doune, and we are confident that being part of the local community will have a significant positive impact on the residents, and help them on their road to recovery.

“We’re delighted to have the opportunity to create 60 jobs to support the new facility, which will primarily be advertised in the local area. It is very important to us that we support the local economy as much as possible, from recruiting the staff, to the food, to the contractors undertaking the work. We want this to be a local service for local people that everyone can be proud of.”

Deanston House will officially open in August.
