Housebuilder donates £6,000 to local charities and organisations across West Yorkshire

Local housebuilder, Barratt Developments Yorkshire West has continued to support the local communities in which it builds, by donating a total of £6,000 to a number of causes across West Yorkshire as part of its Community Fund initiative.

So far this year Barratt Developments Yorkshire West, which includes the Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes brands, has supported six charities thanks to its Community Fund; a scheme that sees a different charity or organisation receive up to £1,000 from the housebuilder every month. The causes that have been supported so far this year include the West Riding Kidney Association, St Francis Catholic School in Morley, the Independent Domestic Abuse Service, The Donkey Sanctuary in Leeds, Hedgehog Emergency Rescue in Bingley and Middleton Park Equestrian Centre. The money donated has helped each organisation continue its work to support communities across the region.

Ian Ruthven, Managing Director of Barratt Developments Yorkshire West commented: “We are always looking for ways that we can support the communities in which we build, so we’re thrilled to have been able to support these charities and organisations with our Community Fund. They all make a difference to the lives of those living in West Yorkshire, so we are really looking forward to see how the donations help each of them and to work with more charities and organisations who will benefit from the Community Fund throughout 2019.”

This initiative is just another way in which the housebuilder supports local charities wherever it can; as well as regular donations and sponsorships, staff at Barratt also take part in the ‘donate a day’ volunteering programme, where employees donate some of their time to help out charities or local projects of their choice.
