‘Luxury’ rental property development in central London to attract US tenants
A new development offering ‘luxury’ rental properties for a growing tenant demographic has launched in the centre of London.
Real estate firm Aston Chase has launched Blenheim Terrace, a development of five-bedroom townhouses that are available exclusively as rental properties, in St John’s Wood.
Designed by London-Miami interior designer Natalie Miyar of Natalia Miyar Atelier, the development aims to meet increasing demand for high-end rental accommodation in the city, particularly looking to attract a growing number of US professionals coming to the UK.
Ben Sloane, lettings director of Aston Chase explained: “Over the last 12 months we have seen a big spike in American families involved in banking and finance being relocated to London.
“We suspect that this is because American banks, financiers and other corporates are seeking to enhance their presence in London in anticipation of a big Post-Brexit USA-UK trade deal.”
The 4025 sq ft properties include features such as comfort cooling, underfloor heating and home entertainment systems and security CCTV and alarms.
As well as five floors of residential space, the townhouses also offer external living areas such as rear patio gardens, terraces and ornamental balconies.
Mark Pollack, co-founding director of Aston Chase commented: “The build to rent sector in London is substantial, with over 32,785 purpose-built homes across the capital, however the vast majority of this market is starter and middle market homes built by volume developers or landlords.
“The luxury build to rent sector is still in its infancy, and this is why Blenheim Terrace, which is the first purpose-built bespoke scheme of its kind in St John’s Wood, will provide a blueprint for similar purpose-built luxury rental projects in the district in the future due to strong tenant demand.”
