Downing appoints new property manager

Liverpool-headquartered developer Downing has appointed a new property manager to its expanding team to help oversee the company’s growing property portfolio.

Jeremy Heaven, who was previously an associate director for CBRE, will bring more than 20 years’ experience within the property and estate surveying sector to the role.

In his new position, Jeremy will work alongside John Clegg, head of property management at Downing. He will oversee the company’s property promotion and residential liaison at key developments across Downing’s UK portfolio, including No.1 Old Hall Street in Liverpool, which has recently undergone a major refurbishment programme to create a new 5,100 sq. ft Grade A office space and resigned reception in the heart of the city’s commercial district.

John Clegg said: “Our team is expanding and we have some exciting projects in the pipeline which Jeremy will play a key role in delivering. Jeremy’s extensive experience in estate management means he is well-equipped to offer first-class support to our tenants, clients and colleagues and we’re delighted to have him on board.”

Jeremy said: “In former roles, I’ve managed a diverse portfolio of properties ranging from retail and leisure parks, to high street retail premises, office and industrial developments and car showrooms, so I’m delighted to be joining Downing’s outstanding team and bringing that experience to the table. I look forward to working closely with John and colleagues to ensure our tenants are well looked after and that Downing’s portfolio is running smoothly and fulfilling its potential both regionally and nationally.”

Downing owns a wide range of commercial space in Liverpool and across the UK, all managed in-house. Its portfolio encompasses everything from prestigious multi-let office buildings, to mixed-use developments. It is also one of the most mature developers and investors in the UK student accommodation market, with landmark schemes under management in the UK’s most renowned student cities. The company manages a portfolio of over £1.1 billion and has developed over 12,000 student bedrooms across the UK. It has lease and nomination agreements in place with leading UK universities including King’s College London, the University of Leeds, the University of Warwick and more locally, Liverpool John Moore University.
