Bolton funeral home gets town’s cars sparkling for charity

Team members from Bolton Funeralcare rolled up their sleeves and donned sponges in a bid to raise funds for a local veteran’s charity at a community car wash.

Well acquainted to keeping their Hearses sparkling, colleagues at the funeral home raised an impressive £206 for Bolton Armed Forces Centre for Veterans at the four hour car wash, where they polished 9 cars to perfection.

Bolton Armed Forces Centre for Veterans is a charity which supports those in the forces, past and present, as well as their families. Its services include housing and benefits advice, mental health support and a community centre for veterans.

Andy Parker, funeral director at Bolton Funeralcare, said: “We’d like to thank everyone who helped us raise the funds, and we’re incredibly proud of the cohesion and spirit we’ve seen in our community.

“The service that Bolton Armed Forces Centre for Veteran’s Charity does for servicemen and the wider community is hugely commendable, and we’re proud to have raised money for such a worthwhile cause.”

Thanks to Co-op’s 1% scheme, a total of £19m has been raised for key local causes across the UK since November 2017.
