Harrogate Hotel Unveils “Majestic” Refurbished Meeting Rooms
The multi-million-pound transformation of Harrogate’s Majestic Hotel has reached another key milestone with the completion of the upgrade to its function rooms.
The hotel, which is to become a DoubleTree by Hilton this autumn, officially unveiled its new look meeting and function rooms to thousands of key delegates from the meetings and events industry, at the recent London’s Meetings Show and Manchester’s Confex North.
The Majestic Hotel was purchased by the Cairn Group in 2016, who immediately announced it was investing £15m in the property, which over the years has welcomed royalty, prime ministers, captains of industry, rocks stars and Hollywood A-listers through its doors.
In addition to the function rooms and conference facilities, the significant investment is seeing the refurbishment of 184 bedrooms, reception area, restaurant and bar.
Also underway is an extensive transformation of the hotel’s leisure facilities into a state-of-the-art spa and wellness centre, boasting pool, six treatment rooms, relaxation lounge, café, terrace and Zen Garden.
Gillian Venning, Majestic Hotel’s director of sales and marketing, said: “We are absolutely delighted that the upgrade of our function rooms is now complete – and many are already in extensive use.
“Over the coming months we will be showcasing our stunning venue to conference booking agents from all over the country, and the Meetings Show and Confex North were superb events to set the ball rolling.
“Harrogate has a long and proud history for staging international conferences and major trade fairs, and for more than 100 years the Majestic Hotel has been central to this important industry.
“Thanks to this significant investment, the Majestic Hotel is incredibly well placed to attract, and host, events local, national and international, for many years to come.”
Gillian added: “Our extensive grounds and landscaped gardens are also popular for team-building activities, as well as events such as the annual Home and Gift Show that require large scale marquees.
“And with the exciting news that by the end of the year LNER will be operating six direct trains per day to and from London, Harrogate has never been more accessible to conference and events organisers.”
