Private equity firm Equistone has agreed to acquire Doncaster-based firm Heras as the latest addition to its portfolio.

Founded in 1952, Heras provides mobile and permanent perimeter protection systems and products including fencing systems, manual and automated gates, hostile vehicle mitigation barriers and electronic perimeter detection products.

The company has sales offices in the Netherlands, United Kingdom, Sweden, Norway, Germany and France, as well as production facilities are in the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Sweden and the UK.

Equistone, which has offices in London as well as Manchester and Birmingham, Paris, Munich, and Zurich, has agreed to purchase the firm from CRH plc and will acquire a majority stake in the business as part of the deal.

Hubert van Wolfswinkel, director at Equistone, commented: “We are very impressed by Heras’ leading position in the market, which it has achieved by having a strong European manufacturing footprint, long-standing customer relationships and a highly experienced management team.”
