Regeneration project to create 844 new homes in North London gets go ahead
The Mayor of London has approved plans for a ‘major’ residential development set to deliver 844 new homes.
The mayor has approved the regeneration proposal from developer Meadow Residential and architecture firm Arney Fender Katsalidis will to create a new residential community at the site of the former Pentavia Retail Park in Barnet, North London.
Comprising a combination of one and two bedroom apartments, the development will offer rental properties as well as homes to buy.
660 new trees will be planted on the site, and 10,193 sq m worth of terraces, balconies and rooftop amenity space will be created.
The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, commented: “This is a classic example of an underused site with the potential to deliver significant numbers of homes, including affordable homes at social rent and London Living Rent levels.
“I’m clear that I will use all the levers at my disposal to increase the delivery of new genuinely affordable homes across the capital.”
Andrew McDaniel of Meadow Residential added: “Our plans for new homes at Pentavia Retail Park are precisely what London needs.
“Access to quality homes, at an affordable price, is something desperately needed in Mill Hill, not least for the many key public sector workers who provide vital services in local schools and hospitals, many of whom we’ve spoken to in the last few months.
“We look forward to delivering 844 new homes for Londoners.”
