200 new jobs planned for North East energy firm following seven-figure investment

A North East commercial energy consultancy is set to create at least 200 new jobs following a seven-figure investment into new office space.

Direct Business Solutions has taken almost 9,500 sq ft of office space in the Franklin House development at Rainton Bridge Business Park near Houghton-le-Spring as part of its expansion plans.

Founded two years ago by directors Simon Moslemi and Chris Sloanes, Direct Business Solutions specialises in bespoke energy usage, procurement and sustainability strategies for companies, ranging from SMEs to multinational corporations.

Currently based in Doxford International Business Park in Sunderland, the firm plans to relocate to the new base in September.

Managing director Simon Moslemi says: “We’ve made great strides in a very short period of time, but we’re still just getting started and are now putting the infrastructure in place that will help us achieve our ambitions over the long term.

“Having reached a three-figure workforce, we’re very much ready for the step up and now have an ideal base from which to move through the next stage of our development, as well as access to the space we know we’re going to need in the future as we execute our business plan.

Chris Anderson, partner in the commercial property team at Hay & Kilner Law Firm in Newcastle, is advising the Direct Business Solutions management team on the Franklin House transaction.

Chris added: “Direct Business Solutions is growing extremely quickly and needed to find the right kind of high-quality space that would support its future expansion plans.

“It’s been a pleasure to work with such an ambitious management team on this exciting project and we’re looking forward to working with the DBS team as they grow and create even more jobs in their new home.”
