Graduate surveyor joins Vail Williams in Birmingham
Recent Birmingham City University graduate Freddie Eastman has joined the valuation team at property consultants Vail Williams LLP.
Freddie joined Vail Williams’ Birmingham office as a surveyor after completing a three-year Real Estate course at Birmingham City University, for which he was recently awarded a 2:1.
He will be based primarily in the property valuation team but will work across a variety of disciplines, including property acquisition and disposal where he will gain the experience necessary to achieve his APC and qualify as a chartered surveyor.
Stephen Hobbs, head of valuation at Vail Williams in Birmingham, said: “We’re delighted to welcome such a bright young mind to the team and were very impressed with Freddie at interview. He has a clear idea of what he wants to achieve in his career, and we are pleased to be able to support him on this journey as he applies for his APC to become chartered.”
Freddie joins Vail Williams’ Birmingham office on Newhall Street and will work with a team of other property valuation experts as he gains the competencies needed to pass his APC in two years’ time.
With former APC examiners amongst its ranks, Vail Williams will support Freddie along the way, providing funding for training, practical on-the-job experience to inform his portfolio of work, as well as interview advice and insight from former interview panelists.
Speaking of his appointment, Freddie commented: “Whilst the rest of my university peers head off to travel the world, I was keen to get stuck straight into developing my career, having already ticked travelling off my list.”
“After I completed my degree, I knew I wanted to stay in Birmingham and Vail Williams seemed like the ideal opportunity for me. The firm’s values of listen, care, innovate and lead chimed with my own outlook on life, and the support they will give me throughout my training will be invaluable. I’m excited to get stuck into some of the exciting projects the firm is involved in across the Midlands and beyond.”
Vail Williams acts for clients across the UK. In the Midlands the property consultants work with First Group, National Express, Molson Coors and the Chance Glassworks Heritage Trust, providing advice on a broad range of issues including property valuation, lease advice and planning, to asset management and property acquisition and disposal.
Two more graduates, Matt Cureton and Claudia Harley, joined the firm’s offices in Southampton and Woking respectively, and another three are due to start in Crawley Reading and Southampton in the coming months.
Vail Williams has several offices across the UK including Reading, Heathrow, London, Crawley and Woking, as well as Southampton and Portsmouth.
