WAM! New B2B publishing platform launches in Wilmslow, Alderley and Macclesfield
A new B2B publishing platform designed to promote and connect businesses in the important commercial districts of Wilmslow, Alderley and Macclesfield, has brought new opportunities to support business growth and development.
Marketing WAM is an independent organisation raising the profile of both the area and the businesses in it and facilitating increased trading opportunities between businesses located in the area.
Backed by Helen White and Richard Higginson, co-founders of neighbouring organisation Marketing Stockport and launched in partnership with Wilmslow based PR expert Sue Souter and former sales director Jan Cowan, Marketing WAM is set to replicate Marketing Stockport’s success in putting the spotlight on an area that is already attracting inward investment and has huge potential for sustained growth.
Sue has had first-hand experience of the benefits of becoming a part of the unique Marketing Stockport model before moving into Wilmslow and is excited – together with Jan – to be launching this new concept that combines content publishing with marketing and connecting businesses.
She commented: “Our main focus is to help businesses grow, to build long-term business partnerships and to enrich the local economy by promoting the business community regionally, nationally and, where relevant, to exploit international opportunities.
“The website provides a news publishing platform, a business directory and an advertising portal; we will be organising monthly events for our members where our guest speakers look to educate, entertain and enlighten our members covering business related issues.”
Helen White, director of Marketing Stockport has been hugely encouraged by initial reaction to the new publishing platform Marketing WAM:
“Richard and I launched Marketing Stockport in 2012. Having worked in marketing for most of lives, we recognised that Stockport sadly lacked the credit it deserved as an important area for commerce and potential investment. Seven years on we have developed a fantastic business community that has benefited from making new connections, attracting new businesses and creating new opportunities. But Stockport is our home ‘brand’, it’s what know best so replicating its success elsewhere was impossible without finding ideal, locally based partners.
“We are looking forward to supporting Sue and Jan in developing Marketing WAM and are delighted that solicitors SAS Daniels have joined as one of our first founder members who will be instrumental in steering the platform to meet the needs of the emerging and established businesses in the region.”
Sue, Jan and the team hosted a briefing with ‘early adopter’ partners at the luxury furniture brand HouzLux last week on Water Lane in Wilmslow and are planning a major launch in October.
