YORKSHIRE HOUSEBUILDERS’ TOUGH IT OUT FOR CHARITY
A team of housebuilders from Yorkshire showed their true grit and determination after participating in Tough Mudder, a notoriously tricky and most definitely muddy challenge, in Skipton!
The team from Miller Homes in Yorkshire, took on the challenge to raise money for their 2019 chosen charity, Wakefield Hospice, which is just a few miles from the housebuilder’s head office and which offers support to families across the region.
“This was a great challenge and the entire team took themselves out of their comfort zones and embraced the challenges that it offered,” said Tony Haigh event organiser and SHE Advisor Miller Homes Yorkshire. “It was physically demanding but the team spirit that it evoked was admirable. It is fair to say that we have seen each other in a new light and created some fun memories that I am sure will be subject of office camaraderie in the weeks and months to come.”
The team exceeded its initial target of £2000 for the hospice and consisted of seventeen ladies and men from across the county and from site managers to PA’s.
“The challenges that people face at Wakefield Hospice every day of the year are very real and taking part in Tough Mudder was the least we could do,” said Tony. “So far this year we have raised almost £5,000 for them and look forward to supporting them in the wonderful work that they do.”
Keeley Harrison Fundraising Manager, Wakefield Hospice said; “We rely heavily on donations to provide care and support to the people of Wakefield and our warmest wishes go to the Miller Homes team for their support this year. It really does make a difference to have the support of Miller Homes and we hope to continue to work with them in the future.”
There is currently a selection of three, four and five bedroom homes available from Miller Homes in locations from Skipton in the West to Thorpe Willoughby in the East and Sheffield in the South to Boroughbridge in the North.
