Gatwick Airport partners with AI-powered sustainable bus service

Gatwick Airport has partnered with a personalised bus service in a bid to offer its employees a sustainable option for work transport.

Shared transportation service Zeelo, which uses AI to personalise bus journeys as well as aiming to provide a sustainable transport alternative to driving, has teamed up with the airport to provide a new transport option to its employees.

Zeelo’s algorithm, RINA, has identified that the airport’s staff are currently underserved by existing public transport.

Following a free trial beginning next week, Zeelo plans to roll out its full Gatwick Airport service at the end of the month.

Sam Ryan, CEO and co-founder at Zeelo, commented: “For many people who live outside of big cities, travelling to and from work can often be a financial and logistical challenge. Not only can we make commuting easier for workers but also more affordable and sustainable.

“On top of this, employees can be more productive but pay less than they would if they owned a car. We’re delighted to be working with the forward-thinking, innovative team at Gatwick and can’t wait to serve their employees.”
