North East and London firm brings electric vehicle revolution to NETPark with new chargers

A firm with offices in the North East and London has provided two new dual fast chargers to County Durham’s North East Technology (NETPark).

NETPark has worked with electric vehicle charging specialist Elmtronics to provide the Eve 7kW fast chargepoints, allowing visitors and tenants to charge their electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles onsite.

The charging points are connected to the Hubsta network and enable four electric vehicles or plug-in hybrids to charge at any one time using the Hubsta app.

Elmtronics, which has offices in Consett and Heathrow, is an independent supplier of supplier and installer of electric vehicle charging equipment.

Lyndsey Hetherington, business development manager at Elmtronics, commented: “NETPark required a reliable EV charging solution for their staff, visitors and also businesses based on the park, which was the perfect fit for Elmtronics Eve Smart Charging Stations.

“The chargepoints offer the ability for NETPark to manage and monitor the charging stations remotely, adding multiple tariffs for usage but also to view crucial data, such as Co2 savings and transaction usage.”

The news comes after Durham County Council declared a climate change emergency in February, along with targets to reduce its own carbon emissions by 60 per cent by 2030.

Janet Todd, NETPark manager at Business Durham, the economic development arm of Durham County Council, added: “Elmtronics provided NETPark with a full turnkey service, from design to installation with expert advice and guidance throughout the project.

“The arrival of the latest Tesla cars heralded the launch of the new facility at NETPark Plexus and was, of course, very well received by a long queue of excited drivers, and passengers, looking to test the power and performance of the latest Tesla models.”
