Boutique fitness provider launches latest studio following £4m fundraise
A fitness provider has announced the launch of its ninth studio in London weeks after securing £4m in growth funding.
Ten Health and Fitness is launching its new studio at 1 Stephen Street, just off Tottenham Court Road.
In a multi-tenanted building owned by property developer Derwent London, the studio will offer physiotherapy, massage, one-to-one pilates sessions, personal training, rehabilitation and clinical exercise.
In addition, the studio will provide onsite workplace assessments, as well as rooftop classes to the building’s occupants during the summer months.
Founded by Joanne Mathews, Ten Health and Fitness is underpinned by the firm’s ‘MoveBetter’ approach, focusing on quality of movement as much as intensity of effort.
Ten Health and Fitness founder & MD Joanne Mathews explained: “Our approach is inherently ’pre-habilitative. We describe MoveBetter as the workout for the way we live now.
“Because it’s so immersive, and mindful, and requires so much focus and precision, a session is also a great stress-buster – a time-out from day-to-day pressures.”
Commenting on the opening, the firm’s brand and property director, Justin Rogers, added: “When we talked to the team at Derwent London about this idea, it was clear that they could see the advantages of our way of thinking, and that they were as willing to try something new as we were.”
Lorna O’Neil, asset manager at Derwent London added: “We’re excited about having Ten in our Stephen Street property.
“This is a new approach for us and we hope this forward-thinking initiative will add real value to our tenants.”
