Free glasses for Beechmere Care Home residents
A Crewe opticians is offering free replacement glasses to residents of Beechmere Care Home who lost all their possessions in last Thursday’s fire.
Specsavers in Crewe and Nantwich have so far helped 20 out of the 150 affected residents by giving out free single vision glasses as well as a 50% discount on bifocals and varifocals.
Store director Gurj Bhamra said: ‘We’ve been a part of the community here in Crewe for over 25 years now and we are happy to do anything we can to help.
‘We’re encouraging anyone affected by the fire to visit the store to speak to a member of staff about collecting their new pair.’
Specsavers is also offering replacement NHS hearing aids to any Specsavers customers whose sets were lost in the fire.
Gurj added: ‘Our thoughts are with the residents and their families.’
