Redcar firm is latest acquisition for national engineering and tech services specialist

A national engineering, environmental and technical services consultancy has announced its acquisition of a North East firm.

RSK is joining forces with Geocore Site Investigations, which is based in Redcar, in its fifth acquisition so far this financial year.

Founded in 1998, Geocore specialises in the investigation of domestic subsidence, providing site surveys alongside foundation inspections and drainage CCTV.

RSK’s founder and chief executive officer Alan Ryder commented: “Geocore’s service provision complements RSK’s existing services perfectly and I am looking forward to expanding RSK’s drilling provision as we begin collaborating.

“Like RSK, Geocore focuses on its employees and clients. I’m confident that this shared ethos, with our complimentary services, will allow both companies to thrive.”

The deal will see the Redcar firm become part of RSK’s contracting division under the direction of RSK divisional director Claire Knighton.

Adam Woodhead, Geocore Site Investigations managing director and founder, will continue to lead the business with the support of director Michelle Woodhead.

Commenting on the acquisition, Adam added: “As a people-orientated business, Geocore is excited to be joining a larger business with a shared ethos and family feel. We see many synergies that will provide new opportunities for us all.
