County Durham auto firm set for expansion following takeover
A garage in County Durham is set for expansion following a takeover by local firm Newton and Lee Automotive Ltd.
Bescol Motors, situated in Consett, has been taken over by the local auto firm after it secured funding from FSB Funding Platform.
As part of the takeover Newton and Lee Automotive Ltd has safeguarded 7 servicing and back office support roles in the garage.
Tony Newton, owner of Newton and Lee Automotive Ltd, commented: “Over the past three years we have grown the business from scratch to being one of the most trusted garages in County Durham. We have customers from across the County and the wider North East.
“Securing the funding from the FSB Funding Platform has helped to accelerate the growth of the business quicker than we anticipated. By taking on bigger premises and building on the reputation of the previous owners we know that we can grow the business further.
“We’re looking to take on new sales staff and increase the numbers in the service department to continue to build our reputation in delivering outstanding customer service.”
Howard Little, FSB membership advisor, added: “Speaking to members across the region we know that finding the right finance is one of the biggest challenges that FSB members and small businesses face.
“The FSB Funding Platform was developed to help our members overcome this by securing the right deal for them to achieve their ambitions.
“We’re delighted that Newton and Lee have used our platform to expand the business and move into new premises. This is great news for them and for Consett which is seeing ambitious business locate to the town.”
