North East organisations recognised by Charity ambassador programme

A Northumberland-based charity has officially launched its ambassador programme to recognise the commitment of its business partners across the region.

Azure Charitable Enterprises has awarded its first ambassador status to Karbon Homes for its support and contribution to the charity.

Azure partnered with Karbon Homes in 2018, after being awarded a three year grounds maintenance contact, covering over 40 sites across Morpeth, Mitford, Stannington and Blyth. Azure’s Chief Executive, Dr Peter Wilson, said: “Azure Ambassadors are individuals or organisations which deserve to be formally recognised for their sustained support and distinctive contribution to the work of the charity. “We’re delighted to be able to grant the first of our ambassador awards to Karbon Homes, whose continued support has allowed us to offer a broad range of education, employment and care services for people with disabilities.

Kelly Taylor, Karbon Homes’ Assistant Director of Specialist Housing, said: “Karbon Homes is committed to building more than just the homes people live in. We want to build thriving communities and strong partnerships with organisations such as Azure, who do incredible work supporting residents to reach their potential, are paramount to this.

“Everything that Azure offers, from education and employment to care and support services, provides people with the basics they need to live independently, which matches perfectly our mission to provide our residents with a strong foundation for life.

“It’s an honour to have been recognised through Azure’s ambassador programme and we look forward to building on the fantastic relationship we have with the charity going forward.”

Azure’s four remaining ambassador awards will be presented in the coming months to Anchor Hanover, Coca-Cola European Partners, Miller UK and Woodhorn Museum – Museums Northumberland.
