Royal College of Pathologists relocates to bigger London home with £12m investment
The Royal College of Pathologists has relocated to a purpose-built long-term home in Aldgate.
This follows after nearly 50 years in its previous premises, following a £12m funding package from HSBC UK.
The new premises, incorporates a conference centre equipped with the latest audio-visual equipment, a 210-person lecture theatre, other meeting rooms and a library.
The building includes innovative environmental features, including high-level windows on each floor that allow air to cool the concrete ceilings, an automated lighting system, and a living roof to provide habitat for local bird and insects.
Daniel Ross, chief executive of The Royal College of Pathologists, said: “Funding from HSBC UK has enabled us to relocate to state-of-the-art new premises.
“The new headquarters will enhance the learning and development of our doctors and scientists, helping us to fulfil our commitment to promoting excellence in our sector.”
The college is a professional membership organisation with over 11,000 members and has been running for nearly 60 years.
