North East architecture firm set to grow Yorkshire presence with new studio
A North East architectural practice is set to grow its footprint within Yorkshire after securing contracts with businesses in the region.
Nicholson Nairn Architects (NNA), which is headquartered Whickham near Gateshead, is growing its presence in the Yorkshire region with a new base.
The firm, which was founded in 1991 by Tony Nicholson and Garfield Nairn, is looking to capitalise on its growth in the region after securing of a range of contracts in the care and property sectors.
Specialising in high-end residential and multi-million pound commercial projects, the firm is currently working on developments such as large care homes, a leisure complex and volume housing developments.
NNA managing director Chris Barr explained: “The Yorkshire studio is key to the continued strategic growth of the business and its future plans.
Newly-appointed associate Gary Wilson, who originally trained and worked as an architect with NNA before moving to practice in Leeds and North Yorkshire, will lead the new studio.
Chris continued: “Gary is an experienced and talented architect with drive and ambition aligned to Nicholson Nairn’s ethos. His excellent local knowledge and reputation are also important in establishing the new studio.
“I have no doubt, that with the support of our existing team, Gary will play a huge part in this exciting new chapter for the practice.”
