Ali Ramadan, Goodwin

Law firm Goodwin has appointed Ali Ramadan as a partner in its London office.

Joining the firm’s technology practice, Ali specialises in venture capital, cross-border mergers and acquisitions and private equity transactions for technology businesses.

Ali received a diploma in law from City University and a degree in business studies from Cass Business School. He is a member of the Law Society of England and Wales, and is admitted to practice in the Senior Courts of England and Wales.

Aaron Potter, Petersham Nurseries

Petersham Nurseries has appointed Aaron Potter as head chef of Italian-inspired restaurant La Goccia.

Aaron trained on the Specialised Chefs Scholarship at Bournemouth and Poole College under his then work placement mentor, Adam Byatt.

After a period working in New York, followed by a number of months at Claridges, Aaron joined the acclaimed restaurant Trinity in Clapham where he worked his way up to senior sous chef under head chef Adam Byatt.

Aaron says of his appointment: “I’m excited to become part of the Petersham Nurseries family, having dined in Richmond many times over the years, and more recently in Covent Garden.

“I’m looking forward to putting my own twist on Italian cicchetti and small plates, and it’s great to work behind an open counter at La Goccia where you can interact with guests.

“Another thing that drew me to this role is the many charitable opportunities it offers. Having supported homeless charities in my previous role, I look forward to involving myself in upcoming initiatives.”

Nick Samuels, Espen Roisland, Ross Macdonald, Louise O’Grady and Remi le Roy, Matterport

Tech and data specialist Matterport has appointed Nick Samuels, Espen Roisland, Ross Macdonald, Louise O’Grady and Remi le Roy to its UK team.

Nick Samuels joins Matterport as strategic operational director from property investment company Property Hub, where he worked across its homes, invest and lets verticals. Having started his career as a logistics assistant at Ace Vehicle Logistics, Mr. Samuels has worked at Foxtons as a move consultant, department head of property, operations director and head of expansion.

Espen Roisland has been appointed as EMEA business development director. He joins from cloud technology company Appirio, where he was head of Google sales EMEA, and has previously worked with Oracle, Google, HP and Forrester Research.

Ross Macdonald comes onboard as EMEA sales manager, joining from information technology provider SoftwareOne where he was sales leader.

Louise O’Grady joins as EMEA sales operations manager. Previously sales operations manager at seatgeek, Louise spent five years at Amazon in similar roles.

Remi le Roy has been appointed as sales associate and joins from climate solutions firm Munters, where he was inside sales French account manager.
