National gifts retailer unwraps latest store in Sunderland city centre
A gifts and gadgets specialist is the latest retailer to join Sunderland’s Bridges Shopping Centre.
Retailer Menkind has taken unit 84 of the shopping centre in the heart of the city as the location of its new pop-up store ahead of the Christmas shopping period.
Menkind specialises in games, gadgets and gifts for a range of occasions, and operates a UK-wide store network as well as an online store.
The new opening brings the total number of Menkind stores to 54, and comes weeks after Sunderland City Council confirmed the city reached the shortlist of the multi-million pound Future High Streets Fund (FHSF) to revitalise its high street.
Commenting on the new Sunderland store opening, Menkind’s managing director Simon Calvert said: “We’re extremely excited to be coming back to Sunderland with a new pop-up store and a wealth of new items.
“We’ve been busy developing these over the last few months and are very eager to be offering them in our new Bridges Shopping Centre store.
“Our customers should be spoilt for choice, both with gifting options as well as personal buys.”
