North East-based Ocucon scoops hat trick of award nominations
Surveillance technology company Ocucon has scooped a hat trick of nominations in this year’s prestigious Fraud Awards, the leading accolade for those in the UK’s retail risk and loss prevention sector.
The Newcastle-based company is hoping to maintain its winning ways only months after having been named the most innovative global asset protection company by US retail chiefs as it scooped the coveted first prize in the prestigious (R)Tech Asset Protection (AP) Innovation Awards.
Organised by loss prevention conference Retail Risk, the Fraud Awards celebrate the very best individual and team performance, innovative new products and winning strategies within the retail and loss prevention sector over the last year. Judged by a panel of internationally renowned loss prevention professionals, the winners and runners-up will be announced on 3rd October at the Fraud Awards Gala Dinner, at Leicester City Football Club.
Ocucon has been shortlisted in the Most Innovative Cross-Functional Solution and Most Innovative In-Store Surveillance Solution categories for its unlimited cloud-based storage platform.
Recognising innovative products or solutions that have a risk or loss prevention benefit, or benefits to the wider business, the nominations follow Ocucon’s announcement earlier this year that it will provide free upgrades of all CCTV hardware for customers of its standard cloud-based storage package. The launch of the first-of-its-kind zero capital expenditure model could help to save businesses and organisations tens of thousands of pounds in hardware costs.
Meanwhile, Ocucon’s intelligent video redaction service, Ocucon Pixelate has been shortlisted in the Best Newcomer category of the Fraud Awards. In April Ocucon Pixelate announced it would be rolling out the first-of-its-kind automatic full body video redaction functionality, revolutionising the ability of retailers to handle data requests relating to video surveillance in a cost effective and timely manner.
Ocucon Co-Founder, Gary Trotter commented: “It’s been a big year for Ocucon so far, as we’ve rolled out free CCTV upgrades for customers of our cloud-based storage platform and launched our first-of-its-kind automatic full body video redaction functionality as part of Ocucon Pixelate. To have also scooped a hat trick of nominations in this year’s Fraud Awards in recognition of the innovative work of our team is brilliant and we’re looking forward to celebrating with all of the other nominees in October.”
